About
Know Christ and Make Christ Known
St. John's Lutheran Church Mission Statement
St. John’s has been serving Coachella Valley communities for over 60 years. As Lutheran Christians, the good news of God’s unconditional love revealed in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit is the foundation for everything we say and do. We live out this belief in weekly worship services of Word and Sacrament, Christian education and spiritual nurture, prayer, fellowship, and reaching out to those in need in our community.
As a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, St. John’s is in partnership with thousands of Lutheran congregations across the country in supporting Lutheran Disaster Relief and Lutheran Social Services, one of the largest non-profit social service networks in the U.S.

Our Vision
As followers of Christ, we share a living, daring confidence in God’s grace, which forms us as a community of faith and frees us to love and serve God and our neighbors. We live this through
-
worship services in which we share the gospel through Word and Sacrament and song
-
spiritual formation for all ages that grows discipleship to Jesus Christ
-
pastoral care for those in need through prayer and caring ministries
-
social gatherings that celebrate our relationship with God and each other
-
evangelism through which we communicate the good news of life in Jesus Christ
-
community outreach through which we serve our neighbors, promote peace and justice, and seek the wellbeing of all people
